Attorney Profiles

David J. Scarpone is a 1980 graduate of Steubenville High School thereafter he attended The Ohio State University from 1980-1984 where he obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration.  He the attended the Claude W. Pettit College of Law at Ohio Northern University from 1984-1987, where he obtained his Juris Doctor degree.

He has been licensed to practice law since November 16, 1987, when he was sworn in by Ohio Supreme Court Chief Justice Thomas J. Moyer at the Ohio Theater in Columbus.

He has been a practicing attorney since his admission with emphasis in litigation, probate, contract negotiations, personal injury claims, automobile accidents, estate planning (estate administration, guardianships, trusts, trust administration and juvenile).  He is presently a County Court Judge with the Third District Court in Dillonvale and has been a part time Judge since March 1991.

He was admitted to United States District Court for the Southern District of Ohio on July 6, 1989.

He is a sustaining member and current delegate of the 15th District of the Ohio State Bar Association.  He is a former District 15 representative on the Board of Governors of the Ohio State Bar Association (2006-2009) and is a member of the Ohio Association of Municipal/County Judges of Ohio.  He is also member of the Jefferson County Bar Association.

Kristopher M. Haught is a 1998 graduate of Edison High School after graduation he attended Mount Union College and graduated in 2002 with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science.  He worked for US Airways from 2000-2004.  He attend Regent University School of Law from 2004-2007, where he obtained his Juris Doctor degree.

While in law school he was a law clerk at Keating Muething & Klekamp PLL and Frankovitch, Anetakis, Colantonio, & Simon.  He was licensed to practice law in the State of Ohio on November 5, 2007, and the State of West Virginia on May 20, 2008.  In addition, he is admitted to the United States District Courts for the Northern and Southern Districts of West Virginia.

As a practicing attorney since his admission he has developed in the following practice areas: criminal law, real estate, estate planning, commercial law, and municipal law.

He is a member of the American Bar Association, the Ohio Bar Association, and the Jefferson County Bar Association.  He is currently a member of the Jefferson County Bar Association executive committee.
